El cuerpo humano ha estado sometido desde siempre a las disposiciones y cánones culturales; en tal sentido, los cortes han tenido un lugar de privilegio en distintas culturas siendo sinónimo de bien y dignidad. En la actualidad los cortes (cutting) se presentan carentes de esa inserción histórica y se alzan como mensajes que buscan conmocionar al Otro.

Acerca del valor inscriptual de las marcaciones corporales adolescentes / About the inscriptural value of adolescent body markings

Las marcaciones corporales pueblan la piel del adolescente hipermodermo, al extremo de convertirla en un lienzo en el cual se expresan de modo privilegiado, y bajo las más diversas grafías, noveles modos de vincularse con el cuerpo y con los otros. Se entiende que la eficacia de estas marcas no acaba allí sino que conllevan un valor simbolizante que las hace centrales en la dramática identificatoria adolescente.

En el contexto actual se torna quimérica la posibilidad de instituir un acto subjetivo que permita al adolescente consumarse y reconocerse en una identidad propia. Frente a la imposibilidad de simbolizar y servirse de los significantes se propugna un actuar compulsivo lo que conduce a fenómenos que se inscriben en los dominios del acto antes que en los de la palabra.

In the current context, the possibility of instituting a subjective act that allows the adolescent to consummate and recognize himself in his own identity becomes chimerical. Faced with the impossibility of symbolizing and making use of signifiers, compulsive acting is advocated, which leads to phenomena that are inscribed in the domains of the act rather than in those of the word.
